Wearing multiple chains can be achieved through multiple styles. Sometimes the necklace wearer will put on two or more separate chains of different lengths to give a layered looks. They will pair together chains of similar or different metals usually at various complimentary lengths.

This type of chain is usually unattached t the ends to allow the wearer to knot or wrap it in whatever manner suits them.
One of the more popular ways to achieve this modern necklace trend is to wear one necklace that has multiple strands. A chain that has several strands of different lengths across the front is a fun and more comfortable way to achieve the multi chain look.
The multi chain look can also be achieved when multiple chains are used in the front of the piece as decoration. Instead of having several chains go all the way around the neck, this style usually has five or six short chains used as drop embellishments in the center part of the front of the chain.
The multi chain look will often require that the metal chains be accented with colorful beads, charms and other ornaments to brighten up the jewelry. Another common style of the multiple chain trends is a triple strand choker. This is made up of a choker necklace usually about 18 inches long. The necklace has two shorter connectors in the front to give it a layered look, resembling more than one chain.
